Why does it ask for Local Network access?
So phones at the same courts can find each other and keep a live session in step while the app is open, even without an internet connection. If you said no, turn it back on in Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network.
A friend opened an invite and nothing happened
They need Win by Two installed, which for now means joining the beta on TestFlight, and to be signed in to iCloud. Once both are true, have them open the link again, or scan the code from inside the app.
Why does it ask to set alarms?
For timed rounds. An alarm is what rings through silent mode and a locked screen when the round is up. Whoever silences it silences it for everyone in the session.
Why does it ask for Apple Health?
So each session can be saved as a Pickleball workout, which is also what keeps the app on your Apple Watch’s screen while you play. Say no and everything else works as before; the watch app just doesn’t come to the front when you raise your wrist. Change your mind in the Health app (your picture, then Apps) or in Settings › Privacy & Security › Health.
Where’s the watch app?
It comes with the iPhone app. If it isn’t on your watch, open the Watch app on your phone, scroll to Available Apps and install Win by Two from there. It shows the session your phone is in: your court, the clock, scores, the board and the standings.
Someone’s heading home
Open the session menu and choose Step Out, then Done for Today. Their games still count in the standings and the recap, and they aren’t dealt in again. Step Out on its own is a break: I’m Back puts you back in the next round.
A place shows the wrong distance, or fills itself in
The app remembers where your phone stood while a round was in play, so it can suggest the same court next time. A test session played at home teaches it the wrong spot. Open the place picker, swipe the place under Where You Play and choose Forget; it learns the real spot the next time you play there.
Does it work on iPad?
Yes. An iPad propped up by the courts makes a good walk-up board.
Reporting a problem with a session
Tell us what happened and roughly when. If it’s about a particular session, open it and choose Diagnostics in the session menu: it opens an email to us with what the app saw already attached.
