Pickleball open play, sorted

Show up.
Get on court.

Win by Two deals fair rounds for your crew, keeps score as you play, and ends the session with a recap and awards. On your iPhone, your iPad and your Apple Watch.

Win by Two on an iPhone: round 1 on two courts, with Court 2 scored 11–4 and one player sitting the round out
Win by Two on an Apple Watch: round 3, 7:08 left on the clock, Court 1 with Dana versus Sam and Riley, and an Enter Score button

A session with Win by Two.

From “who’s coming?” to the recap, without anyone keeping a list on their phone’s notes app.

Everything the organizer used to do by hand.

Tell it who’s here and how many courts you’ve got. Win by Two does the rest, round after round.

  • 01

    Fair rounds, fresh partners

The mixer steers away from repeat partners while there’s someone new to play with. Sitting out rotates evenly: whoever’s played most sits first, and late arrivals go straight in.

  • 02

    Your format, your rules

Mixer, Balanced for close games, Fair Schedules to even out everyone’s schedule, King of the Court, or Fixed Partners when you arrive as teams. Doubles or singles, scoring to 11, win by 2, or whatever your courts play.

  • 03

    Scores in a tap

Tap the side that won and key in the other side’s points; the winning score fills itself in. Standings update as you go, and from round two each name carries its record onto the court.

  • 04

    Courts with their own names

A park’s marked 3, 7 and 8, or the two you booked: name them once and every round, the board and the watch use them. Next time at that park, they’re filled in for you.

  • 05

    An alarm that actually rings

A timed round ends with an alarm on every phone in the session: locked, in a pocket, even on silent. Silence it on one, and the others with the app open stop too.

  • 06

    A recap worth arguing about

The session ends with the final table and its awards: Game of the Day, Upset of the Day, Hot Streak, Best Duo, Iron Legs and Heartbreaker. Share it as a card or a link.

The walk-up board.

Prop a phone or iPad by the courts: big, high-contrast and readable from the bench. It turns sideways, and when you’ve got eight courts going it shrinks to fit them all on one screen.

The walk-up board on a phone held sideways: round 1, 1:15 left, eight courts in three columns with the players on each, and who’s sitting

On your wrist.

The Apple Watch app is a remote for your phone. It stays on screen through the session, the way a workout app does, because it is one: each session is saved to Health as a Pickleball workout, with your heart rate, calories, steps and distance.

  • The watch’s Now page: round 3, 7:08 left, Court 1 with Dana versus Sam and Riley, and an Enter Score button
Your court, your partner and the clock.
  • Score entry on the watch: a keypad asking how many points Sam and Riley had
Scores in two taps: who won, and what the others got.
  • The watch’s board: four courts with the players on each, one scored 11–5, and who’s sitting
The whole round, and who’s sitting.
  • The watch’s standings: nine players with their records and point differentials, your own row highlighted
Standings, with your row picked out.

Hosting? Start the next round from the watch too. Step out and come back from there, and the round alarm reaches your wrist.

From the group chat to the court.

Getting everyone there is half the job.

  • Plan Saturday’s session

Pick a time and a court, send a link or a QR code (Messages shows when and where), and see who’s in. Everyone who says they’re in gets a reminder an hour before, and the matchups appear five minutes before the start.

  • Join from the next court

Phones nearby find the session on their own, with no sign-up and no internet needed. Anyone invited walks straight in; anyone else knocks, and whoever’s playing can let them in.

  • Your regulars, remembered

Keep your crew as a group, and its sessions reach everyone in it. Play enough sessions together and the all-time rivalries board starts keeping score.

And the small stuff.

  • Step out for a drink and back in when you’re ready, or say you’re done for today: your games still count, and you’re not dealt in again.
  • If someone has to leave mid-game, the host brings a sub on from the bench.
  • Find the court from nearby clubs, courts and parks, and everyone gets directions in a tap. Next time you’re standing there, it fills in the place for you.
  • Round timers, a set number of rounds, or play until a time. Call the last round, or finish between rounds.
  • Hand hosting to someone else’s phone if you have to leave early.
  • Your next session on your Home Screen, with a widget.
  • Your court, your matchup and the round clock on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, with Step Out a tap away.
  • Pick light or dark in the app, whatever your phone is set to, for a court in full sun. Large text sizes work too.
  • Something wrong? The session menu opens an email to us with what the app saw already attached.

No accounts. No ads. No tracking.

Your games live on your phones and in your own iCloud. There’s no Win by Two server for them to sit on, so we couldn’t look at your scores if we wanted to. Read the privacy policy.

Bring it to your next open play.

Win by Two is in beta on TestFlight. Join from your iPhone or iPad, or have the invite emailed to you. The watch app comes with it.
